What you don’t get to learn in school!

My reflections on International Day of Education: How we say that school prepares us for the workplace but 8 out of 10 graduates are ill-prepared for the work world is baffling. I bet there are things you wished you had known while in school to better prepare you for the world of work and life. Here I attempt to highlight a few.

Share your thoughts, let’s have an extended conversation

Deep Wells

I want to drink from deep wells and harness the ability to nurture well keepers and deep well diggers. In a company where non thirsts; not for knowledge or truth. Where filters are innate and life giving wisdom in abundance. In this is my belly full and my soul nourished.

After all is said and done…

If all we said appeared on our skin, will you be more careful of your speech?
If praise went beyond dancing or hallowing God and ventured into a
third dimension where there is a reference of extreme attachment but God asks that we give it up, will you obey and give it up in praise?
If in tears, we are asked to be a blessing to the object that caused the pain, will we be obedient as to lend a helping hand?
Because at the end of every journey, when all is said and done, its all that is done that will be said!

NOCTURNAL

The moon falls into a replenishing slumber from bright to pale; leaving only a trace as with chalk in the sky. Only to wake shortly after and put on its bright robes becoming halo rich again.
It’s the period you come face to face with yourself.
There’s not much of an activity to shield you from you. Truth is, most people hide behind busy schedules and avoid having plain honest conversations with themselves.
The cover of night brings up such an opportunity and we numb it with sleep.

TRUST

You can’t particularly blame a brother for feeling the way he does, if all he see’s and hear are devoid of the truth needed to inspire trust, from the point of going through the tides through to the end, nor can you hold a sister to ransom when she comes to God for a face lift because she is wrinkled with worry only to be turned away by the “Charismatic gimmicks” sugar-coated with soul-ish experiences which profits the spirit nothing.

Running Out of Time!

Everything is in fast mode.
Fast tempo songs, fast food, faster cars; fastest technology,
quick population of search results, quickies, fast love.
So fast our days seem to be on steroids.
It’s morning before you take a first stretch or turn over in bed.
Work hours are over even over before it begins.

We are indeed running out of time!

Semantics!

Unassumingly prim and proper is what you will call me if you ever get to meet me.

Incorrigible is a word I rarely use and yet it’s what they call me.

My name on their lips feels sharper when thrown at me.

It cuts through the thick walls of my heart.

My skin no longer feels like clothes enough for my bones,

I’m colder than cold.
