Originally written on the 21st of November 2015, when I tried my hands at repetition and rhyming in part. It is true when I say time is our only litmus. Over time I have come to appreciate this piece and now find it ready to be shared. I hope it reminds you of what matters most to you. I hope it stirs up something significant in you.

We are running out of time.
And soon we will be out of it.
Leaving behind everything and not taking even a dime.
We have nothing but this moment and that’s it!
If time is a track, then we are running in circles and soon we would grow dizzy.
Dazed by our pursuit of pleasurable nothings.
Never making time for the little important things; sharing a kind word, loving our neighbour, wearing a smile or saying I love you.
We are running out of time.
And soon we will be out of it.

Too busy to grab a bite.
Overwhelmed by crazy ambitions.
Running after wealth and not honoring our “tithe”.
Holding on to the world and not saving even a nation.
It’s never been about how much we have to our credit,
It’s about who got touched by our acts to our merit.
We are running out of time.
And soon we will be out of it.

It would come in handy.
Everything is in fast mode.
Fast tempo songs, fast food, faster cars; fastest technology,
quick population of search results, quickies, fast love.
So fast our days seem to be on steroids.
It’s morning before you take a first stretch or turn over in bed.
Work hours are over even before it begins.
We are running out of time.
And soon we will be out of it.

Literally we are running out of time.
Running out of time with family and staying longer under spotlights.
Choosing the limelight in the presence of a crowd over our time with the ones we love.
Making a living and losing our lives.
Too busy stepping on toes and never helping anyone nurse a wound.
We are running out of time.

Just so we don’t fall off from crushing into disappointment and
grieving all the moments there could have been.
Let’s take time to love, care, share, smile, help…
Let’s spend our moments together and create lasting memories
In such acts we trap time.
Because these moments out-run time.
And we end up not running alone, together we run far.

But this time we run fulfilled
